“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”
The Great Pumpkin arrived at Bristol Village last weekend for the Annual Fall Harvest Fair! It was as if the Great Pumpkin ordered two of the most beautiful, picture perfect, fall days in Ohio.
The Bristol Village annual Fair attracts many visitors from the surrounding Southern Ohio area. A definite record crowd spent two relaxing and exciting days browsing the many diversified craft booths, trying to find a seat in our very popular Terrace Café, and listening to a variety of musicians throughout the fair. An autumn blast to remember!
As I strolled the fair, I couldn’t resist stopping at all the beautiful arts and crafts booths, wood crafts, stained glass, original art, painting, photography, books, unique weaving items, cookies, baked goods, and I could go on and on. Just a note, 10% of all the proceeds of the fair is donated to the Arts & Crafts Committee which supports the resident-run activities throughout the Village.
Then your attention is turned to the aroma of what is hot off the grill at the Terrace Café! I found it quite difficult to leave the fair!
I absolutely love Fall Fairs! This particular Fair is very near and dear to my heart. One of the many reasons we moved to Bristol Village was because all the activities were created and run by the Residents, not an Activity Director. This is the reason the Bristol Village catalogue and DVD never reached the circular file! Just another comparison that shows the true uniqueness of the people and the Village!
You know, when you first turn the corner and arrive at the Bristol Village entrance, you whole heartily “Come Home to the Village.” And that’s the truth!
So, join the dialogue. What do you think about Fall Festivals? Let us know your favorites.
As always, I am…a Great Pumpkin fan and Boomer Explorer.
